US calculator
Whole House Renovation Cost Calculator
Estimate US renovation costs for an existing home by area, renovation level, condition, finish, structural scope, and exceptional system work.
How this estimate is calculated
Home area is multiplied by the selected whole-renovation level. Mid-range and major choices add only the per-square-foot difference from the light baseline, preventing the renovation rate from being counted twice. Condition, finish, and structural scope adjust that integrated project subtotal. Optional system fields are conservative incremental allowances only for exceptional work beyond the chosen renovation level; they are not full standalone calculator totals.
This is a planning estimate, not a contractor quote. Actual contractor quotes vary by location, specification, site conditions, labour, and project requirements.
Useful cost information
Planning assumptions
- The estimate applies to renovation of existing home area and excludes new additions, garages, pools, and major landscaping.
- The selected renovation level already represents overlapping general labour, overhead, rooms, finishes, and systems; do not select exceptional allowances for work already adequately represented in that level.
