Drainage System Cost Calculator

Estimate US yard and surface-water drainage costs by length, system type, soil, excavation, site disruption, and selected project work.

How this estimate is calculated

System type defines either an installed per-foot range or, for a dry well, a whole-project range that is not multiplied by length. Soil, excavation and site disruption adjust the subtotal. Preparation, permits, pumps, restoration and design remain fixed project allowances.

This is a planning estimate, not a contractor quote. Actual contractor quotes vary by location, specification, site conditions, labour, and project requirements.

Useful cost information

Planning assumptions

  • System suitability depends on soil, grading, discharge route and site layout.
  • Foundation repair, sewer-line work, septic systems and roof gutters are excluded.
  • Permitting and drainage requirements must be confirmed locally.
