US calculator
Tile Installation Cost Calculator
Estimate US residential tile installation costs by tile area, material, application, pattern, substrate work, and selected extras.
How this estimate is calculated
The ceramic installed rate is the area-based baseline. Material differences, removal and waterproofing are native per-square-foot adjustments. Application and pattern complexity adjust the tile subtotal; substrate work is separately area-based, and trim and access remain project allowances.
This is a planning estimate, not a contractor quote. Actual contractor quotes vary by location, specification, site conditions, labour, and project requirements.
Useful cost information
Planning assumptions
- Significant substrate work already includes the backer-board allowance; do not add separate backer-board work again.
- This is an installed planning estimate, not a quote for structural repairs, plumbing relocation, mould remediation, or major demolition.
